We know that image consultants are big on toy rooms
and play areas. Their thinking is wrong. We obviously know
something they don't. (See our play
room page.) Yes, play rooms,
structures and having areas and rooms all done up in primary colors LOOKS
GOOD, but looks can ruin sales. Image consultants need to understand your goals
of managing families is more important than appearing child friendly.
You must better understand your goals of
managing children, otherwise you will loose sales opportunities. Here are some common sense objectives. Making parents aware that you have something for kids to do is a very good thing to do. In that sense, playrooms and play areas and yes, primary colors can be good. It makes parents feel you are child friendly. Separating children from parents causes anxiety. Parents will have to leave your sales process to occasionally supervise or simply check on their children so keeping them together is better. Remember, unsupervised children seldom perform as parents and businesses would like. More than one child in a playroom or play area breeds competition for scarce toys or games. Always provide duplicates. Children of different ages or physical momentum (that is ones who play rougher than others) create safety issues so DO NOT PROVIDE any toy, game or structure that encourages animated play. Play areas wear out and get worn and dirty looking quickly. Your image goes negative when parents see beat up, worn out and broken toys. Infectious Disease issues are the number one safety issue for parents when eyeing your toys and play rooms. What you prefer??? Docile quiet children sitting happily and quietly as parent conduct their business with you. It's possible, that's why we exist.
